Sunday Services

Children are always welcome at Sunday morning worship at St James's. We aim to involve children together with adults in our Sunday worship as much as possible. Colouring and worksheets are available during the 9.30am service and our 11am Active Church for All services include crafts and activities alongside teaching, prayers and songs. We also understand that it is not possible to keep little children still and quiet all through church!

To help you to be in church with your children we have designed 'pew bags' for younger children, full of interesting things which a child can take to their place and play with while sitting with their parents.

Good News Club

This 'after school church' for primary age children is led by St James Church. Clubs meet at Sankey Valley St James CE Primary and Chapelford Primary. Both clubs start straight after school and finish at 4.30pm.

Messy Church

Messy Church takes place about once per half term and is a time for school families, St James Church and the local community to come and explore what it means to follow Jesus in a fun interactive way. As the name implies it's not about sitting down quietly! Why not join come along and find out why so many people love coming to Messy Church? Messy Church takes place at Sankey Valley St James and Chapelford Primary Schools.

These are family events which finish with refreshments at 4:30pm.

All families are welcome - just come to school reception on the day.
